Adding or updating your trusted contact information
What is a trusted contact?
A trusted contact is not someone who can access your account, make transactions, or receive account information. Instead, they're someone we may contact in an emergency if we're unable to reach you or if we have concerns about your well-being or suspicious activity related to your account. You can learn more about trusted contacts in this FINRA article.
While you're not required to add a trusted contact, we encourage you to consider adding one to your Frec account. Your trusted contact must be at least 18 years old, and it's important to provide current and accurate contact information. By providing the name and contact information for a trusted contact, you authorize us to contact them in limited circumstances. Those circumstances include when we have a concern about the activity in your account and are unable to contact you directly.
How do I add or edit my trusted contact?
You can update or add a trusted contact to your Frec account at any time by following these steps:
- Click on your name or Account > Account settings
- On the Profile tab, scroll down to Trusted contact and click Edit
Please make sure this information is up to date.
