If you lose the device you used to set up 2FA, you can use the backup code provided to you if you set up 2FA with an authenticator app or you can generate a backup code to use within the platform. If you set up SMS 2FA and you still retain your same phone number with a new device, you should still receive a verification code to your new device and should not need to use a backup code.
If you lost your backup code or were never provided with a backup code, you can obtain a new backup code by going to the right-hand corner of the platform and clicking on your name. Then click “Account settings” in the dropdown menu and select the “Security & privacy” tab. From there, you can click on the words “Generate new code” for a backup code to obtain a backup code.
Once you have your backup code, you can use it in place of the verification code that would normally go to your device through SMS or an authenticator app.
