Partial executions

A partial execution means that only part of your order has been filled. An order can have multiple partial executions and may or may not be fully executed.

Partial executions happen most often with limit orders, but market orders can experience them too, for example on large orders or when a stock is thinly traded.

Day limit orders and unfilled remainders

Frec's limit orders are valid only for the current trading day. If a limit order is partially filled and the rest doesn't execute by market close, the filled shares stand, and the unfilled remainder is automatically canceled rather than carried over to the next day.

Canceling a partially filled order

If you cancel an order that's already partially filled, only the unfilled portion is canceled. The shares that have already been executed can't be undone.

Fractional orders

Partial executions can also occur on fractional share orders, whether entered as a share quantity or a dollar amount.

Trade activity

You can view your trade activity on the platform's Activity tab. For an order with a partial execution, the activity will show how much has been filled, and whether the remaining amount is still pending or has been canceled.
